Be Me. Be I. Be Yourself.

Everyday I come across a status update of a "forever alone" teenager that would whine about how unfair and cruel people are. How people look upon them and judge them. What they don't understand is that life is not worrying about every detail of what everyone else thinks of you. It's about what you think of yourself. It's about loving who you are and what you have.

First step towards being yourself is to stop caring about everyone's opinion of you. What other people think of you doesn't matter but what matters is what you think of yourself. These opinions that you care so much about often direct you away from the goals/ideas and things you strongly believe in.

Many with low self-esteem would argue that they are not proud of themselves and therefore don't want to be who they are. For those who feel ashamed of themselves, the first step towards being better than yourself is to be what you are. You only live once so why live this short life being someone who you are not meant to be.

Stop comparing yourself to others! For it is you that is unique and has no comparison with any other. Be the best of yourself but never try to be better than anyone else. But comparison is a good way to measure success, compare yourself to someone who you used to be.

Choose to be around the right people. The people who love you for who you are as the saying goes: "It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not." You will always be a matter of interest and care to the right people as they would be to you. For "Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

Be yourself because that's the only person you can be.
